Right, I’m not the greatest with this sort of stuff but after seeing what the other lads have written, I felt that I needed to give it a go. I’m fine talking on Luno’s behalf but writing is a different matter. Anyway, here we go This tournament was the brain child of Mick Wickham jnr, and when it was first put to me it was supposed to be a load of teams in a big tournament. Sounded like a great idea but we had tried to do a tournament before and it was hard work. Not long after Michaels initial diagnosis, myself and John Bruns pulled together a 5 a-side tournament and it was a great success. However, we had teams dropping out on the day and not getting enough players, which wasn’t ideal, especially for a 5 a-side. After a few back and fourths, with Si grant and others, the idea of having the 4 teams, 2 semis and a final was settled on.
